About Hotel Colessio

Hotel Colessio occupies a grand Victorian building that once housed a bank, on Spittal Street a short walk from Stirling Castle. The conversion has kept much of the original architecture, including ornate cornicing and a domed banking hall now used as a lounge and bar, while the bedrooms are finished in a more contemporary style with a mix of standard, superior and suite categories.

The hotel has built a name locally for its spa, which includes a hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room, along with a small private cinema that can be booked by guests. Baja Bar and the on-site restaurant serve modern Scottish dishes and cocktails, making the hotel a popular choice for evenings out as well as overnight stays.

Its location puts the castle, Argyll's Lodging and the Old Town within a few minutes on foot, while the railway station is close enough to reach easily on foot with luggage, making it a practical base for visitors arriving by train as well as by car.

Overall a great hotel with Prima Location, great bar, nice breakfast and friendly and helpful staff! The best is to book direct to get all of the perks (early checkin, late checkout, full breakfast, drink vouchers). Be prepared to pay up to £10/night for parking, but plenty of spaces. Location to town a d the castle is the best - worth the extra price to stay. The only disappointment was the condition of the ratty carpet in the rooms - the rest of the room was fine.

Very clean very pretty looking hotel. Very modern and clever setup. Wanted to highlight the Rio the lady who checked me in. Very knowledgeable and very helpful. Made a cracking first impression and helped me get sorted for parking. Had the sort of manner / greeting that you wished every hotel had Would recommend staying here as the location is central for getting almost anywhere in Stirling.

Great rooms, big bathroom with a massive bath, friendly helpful staff and great location, walking distance to the castle and in a great part of the city. Paid on-site parking was easy to access online and I'd you book direct with the hotel as we always so they offer a free welcome drink and late check out. Great lounge area and really great breakfast menu in their lovely dining area. Definitely recommended and good value.

It was noted that investment in the Collesio is evident from previous stays showing upgrading of bedrooms and progressive internal redecoration. We were very happy with our room and a great night’s comfortable sleep. The parking fee has been reduced to £10 for 24 hours which is a welcome reduction on the previous £15 and acceptable considering prime location. All staff were friendly, efficient and motivated. Delighted that the hot buffet breakfast has been replaced with full Scottish breakfast table service with continental buffet; upgrade menu free to direct reservations. Great that investment is being made in this lovely hotel in a prime Stirling location to restore it to a high standard. We’ll be back again!
