About Friars Wynd

Friars Wynd builds its character around its restaurant and wine bar, set within a restored Victorian townhouse on Friars Street in Stirling. Breakfast is served on-site, room service and in-room drinks are available, and there's a garden with outdoor seating for warmer days, plus kids' meals catered for families staying over.

The rooms take a relaxed, informal approach rather than anything overly formal, with en-suite bathrooms throughout, family rooms for those travelling together, and accessible rooms where needed. Free WiFi is provided across the property, making it straightforward for both leisure guests and those working while away.

Stirling's centre is close by, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment within easy reach, and a golf course nearby for those wanting to fit in a round. Stirling University adds a further point of interest for visitors exploring the area, with the town itself under a mile from the hotel.

This hotel was weird because we never saw anyone like a front desk clerk. I'm not even sure they have a front desk. We arrived around 8:30 PM and the entire hotel was locked/chained in the front, which was incredibly disconcerting. We finally realized there was a note on a side door with a phone number for after-hours help. Called it -- no answer. YIKES! Called again and someone said they'd come give us a key. She gave us a key and left us to find our way upstairs to our room, which wasn't intuitive. There was a lift that didn't work. We never saw anyone after that during our two night stay. We used a code to go in the side door. The room itself was fine, although the bathroom was quite small. Overall it was just a really odd experience.

We were on the third floor and the lift wasn't working, so all luggage and packages had to be hauled upstairs. Other than that, the stay was great, rooms were clean and staff was fantastic! You'll enjoy it here.

Absolute joke of an establishment. In the days leading up to our stay, we tried contacting the hotel to confirm details. We called multiple phone numbers, sent emails, and even messaged them on Facebook: complete radio silence across every single platform. Thankfully, we had the foresight to realise they were entirely uncontactable and booked alternative accommodation 24 hours before our trip so we weren't left stranded. It has now been 4 days since we tried contacting them and we still haven't heard a single word back. Even Hotels.com has confirmed they are unable to get a hold of them. Shambolic management and zero customer service. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to be ghosted and forced to book elsewhere at our own expense!

We really liked this hotel. The location was convenient, the service was excellent, and we all loved it. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
