About Stirling Court Hotel
Set right on the University of Stirling campus, Stirling Court Hotel makes the most of its unusual setting, with 100 rooms and grounds that feel more parkland than city centre. It's a short distance from Bridge of Allan, giving guests a proper base for exploring the wider area while staying somewhere quiet and self-contained.
Rooms come with drinks-making facilities and modern bathrooms, though some are a little dated in style compared to the rest of the hotel. Guests can make use of a restaurant and bar on site, along with breakfast each morning, an indoor swimming pool, a gym, and a lift for easy access throughout the building. There's also a garden for those who want to spend time outdoors, and the hotel doubles as a wedding venue for those planning an event.
Free on-site parking is provided, which is useful given the campus location, and staff are consistently mentioned as friendly and helpful. Whether visiting the university, exploring Stirling itself, or heading out to Bridge of Allan, the hotel offers a comfortable, well-equipped stopping point with the practicalities well covered.

What guests say
It was easy to find, there is good parking. The staff are friendly and helpful. The buffet lunch was very good. The only problem for me was that the "instant" coffee was decaf, and that when the proper milk ran out all that was left was a disgusting white soya based liquid, that ruined any tea or coffee that it was added to. In the hotel's defence, I suppose there are people out there who actually choose to drink decaffeinated coffee and tea and those who prefer an ultra-processed soya emulsion to milk (no accounting for taste or intelligence)

Hotel in grounds of the University had comfortable rooms and we had a great meal in the restaurant on the Saturday night; very tasty and good portions. Could have done with a bedside table at my side of the bed but otherwise room was fine. I would stay again.

We booked last minute for an overnight stay yesterday (13th June) via booking.com. On arrival at reception I provided my name and the reference number. No record of my booking (despite standing there with the reference in an email) - apparently booking.com don’t send the bookings through that quickly sometimes. After asking to see proof that I had paid, I showed my receipt (at which point my phone was taken from me, as I refused to show the payment coming out of my account). The receptionist did do her best and rebooked us under a new booking once she’d seen we had actually booked and paid. Quite embarrassing standing with other guests waiting and hearing everything though. We were given an “upgrade” to a king room (137) and given our key. We walked along a very long corridor, and eventually found our room. And that I’m afraid is where it really nosedived for us. The furniture was dated, covered in ring marks and chipped. There is no heat control so you’re in a room with a radiator and nothing to control it with. There was no air conditioning which is fine but we returned late last night after an outdoor concert and it was really very cold in the room. The pillowcases were stained but we turned them over and ignored the marks as we were exhausted. As a plus the bed was comfortable enough and thankfully the duvet was lovely and warm. There were adequate plugs to charge but only because I bought two multi charging plugs with me. The bathroom I’m really sad to say was the absolute pits. It smelled awful, had peeling paint, and rotting materials on the vanity which was exuding some kind of fluffy stuff that looked like wood fibre that had got very wet, and poorly repaired walls where the towel rail was. The toilet flushed and the sink was clean enough. The waste in the sink didn’t allow water to drain easily and we had to fill the kettle using the bath tap as the sink was so small. My husband showered in the bath (which had an over bath shower) and it was perfectly fine. I just didn’t want to shower in that bathroom as it made me feel gritty even being in it and I left this morning to travel home to shower there. For a last minute overnight stay it was just about passable. I can’t imagine staying for any longer and I certainly will not book again, nor will I recommend it to anyone. The front desk area and adjacent space is nice enough, if slightly sparse, but it doesn’t exactly have a welcoming atmosphere. If our room was anything to go by I’d book a premier inn instead - for the same money or maybe even less (we paid £104 last night) at least you know you’re getting a certain standard. In summary, we stopped short of giving up and leaving to go home last night but we were tired after our evening out.

An excellent value hotel. Really well placed to visit the Wallace Monument and nice and quiet, set in its own grounds on the University campus. Rooms are clean and functional and the bed is comfy. There's a nice view of the monument from the function room.
