About The Dolphin SA1 Hotel

Fishing spots, a golf course and watersports are all within reach of The Dolphin SA1 Hotel, along with cycling routes and walking areas for those who prefer to explore on foot. The Kidwelly Industrial Museum gives a further reason to venture out, and pubs, bars and restaurants nearby make it easy to fill an evening without straying far.

The hotel itself has 45 rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning and family rooms available for those travelling with children. A restaurant and bar serve meals throughout the day, including kids' meals and breakfast, while a snack bar and drinks brought to the room cover anything in between. There's a garden and outdoor seating area too, plus a lift, meeting rooms and a space set aside for weddings.

Staff are consistently singled out as friendly and helpful, and the water pressure in the bathrooms holds up well. That said, some rooms have been reported as not always well kept, and there have been issues getting deposits returned, so it's worth confirming the details of any booking in advance. Concierge services and luggage storage are on hand for anything else guests might need during their stay.

I stayed at the Dolphin SA1 Hotel in Swansea for five nights and unfortunately found it neither clean nor particularly appealing. While there was no air conditioning, I can overlook that. However, the overall cleanliness was very disappointing. The bathroom mat had visible dirt and even toenails stuck to it, which was quite unpleasant. There were also hairs in the bathtub, and the bed smelled strongly of sweat and had visible stains. Behind the mattress, I even found used towels, which was honestly quite shocking and not something I would expect in any hotel. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and helpful. They also respected my request not to have housekeeping, although someone did knock once. Otherwise, I was able to enjoy my privacy without interruptions. The sockets next to the bed, as advertised, were also not present, but that was a minor issue compared to everything else. Overall, the location was great, very central and easy to reach…but the condition of the room really affected the experience. You get what you pay for, but Cleaning should be a Standard.

Stayed here one night for a concert. A clean, lovely, warm room. Great water pressure on the shower. The staff are so friendly too. There's a lil cafe on the ground floor that does breakfast, while I didn't have anything it seems nice and popular. Location wise most main things are within walking distance like the train station, hotel, food/ drink places, general shops etc...you'd think being in the centre it would be noisy outside but it barely was, maybe I got lucky, but I had a good sleep. Decent for the price. Thanks for having me 💗 *IMPORTANT: They ask for an £100 deposit upon check in and if paying by card it needs to be a physical one, not Google pay or anything. This isn't me complaining as it's not an issue, just warning people who may not be aware when booking.

Basic, no-frills and good value. Clean, comfortable room and friendly, helpful staff. If you want a spa, gym and all the other bells & whistles, look elsewhere, but this is a solid value hotel with everything that you need without compromising cleanliness, comfort & safety. Great location for city centre, easy walk from the train station. Very quiet given how central it is.

DO NOT BOOK awful hotel with no aircon in rooms. They say you will have the 100 pound deposit automatically refunded but it’s been 2 weeks since my stay and no refund despite them saying it will only take a few days. When you call them they keep saying it’s a bank issue and won’t speak about the issue on the phone. They are scamming people of the deposit. The rooms are incredibly hot due no air con and window doesn’t open more than an inch.the man working Hotel reception mocks how hot it is upstairs but reception gets full aircon. Disgusting attitude from staff. There are loads of other good hotels in the area and I would definitely check them out over the dolphin.
