About Dunivaig B&B

Dunivaig B&B occupies a homely spot on Pier Road in Tarbert, the kind of house that looks out over water and hills rather than a busy street. Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, family options for those travelling with children, and views that take in either the sea or the surrounding mountains, along with drinks available in the room and free WiFi throughout.

Breakfast is included, and there's 24 hour reception for guests coming and going at odd hours. Free on-site parking makes life simple if you're driving in from further afield. The bar, restaurant and eatery options nearby mean you're not tied to the B&B for meals, and there's plenty to fill the days too, from fishing and watersports to golf and walking country right on the doorstep.

Tarbert itself is a good base for exploring this stretch of Argyll and Bute, with entertainment and local points of interest within easy reach. Guests looking for a straightforward, comfortable stay with a view of the harbour will find Dunivaig a fitting choice.

Nice character full old house, great views from the front rooms. Close enough to Tarbut to be able to walk in. They stored our bikes in their shed for security. Car parking is on the street. Breakfast was traditional. They do have cats which we were not aware of. Friendly and helpful owner.

Dunivaig, I fear, has fundamentally altered my standards for B&Bs. It is the quintessential Bed and Breakfast experience. It felt like stepping into a romantic novel - it was almost otherworldly. We were in the turret room - a fabulous wall-to-ceiling wood-panelled octagonal room. It was incredibly warm and cosy with breathtaking views over the loch. The space is really well utilised and makes a pretty limiting area feel spacious. Louise and Peter (and Buddy, Jasper and Hermione) have curated a phenomenal atmousphere throughout the house. You get the distinct impression that you are staying in a home without it ever feeling like you're intruding. Breakfast is proper homecooked food - unpretentious and good, local quality. In a time where I'm trying to be as offline as possible I was so happy to be able to make a booking over the phone and pay cash. The pace is slow and the mood is reflective. We really really loved our stay here and we'll definitely be back.

Great location overlooking the loch. The owners were friendly and knowledgeable about local amenities and ferry times. Fantastic breakfast with plenty of options to suit anyone. About 10 minutes walk to Tarbert centre and about 15 minutes drive to Kennacraig ferry terminal.
