About Burleigh House

Free on-site parking is a genuine bonus at Burleigh House, a small B&B on Newton Road in Torquay, given how tricky parking can be near the English Riviera coast. The property has just six rooms, most with their own en suite bathroom, kept cosy and simple rather than showy, with drinks provided in room and a garden to sit out in when the weather allows.

A cooked breakfast is included each morning, and free WiFi and luggage storage are also on hand for guests coming and going during their stay. It's a straightforward setup rather than a full-service hotel, but it covers the essentials well.

Torquay itself offers plenty to fill the day, with golf, fishing, horse riding and watersports all available nearby, along with cycling and walking routes for those who'd rather explore on foot or by bike. Pubs, bars and restaurants are within easy reach too, making Burleigh House a practical base for a few days on the Devon coast.

We've had a lovely couple of days here and will definitely return. The breakfast is beautifully cooked with quality ingredients. Our room is absolutely spotless. Ellen couldn't have been nicer. What a wonderful hostess. Thank you Ellen. You made our wedding anniversary trip special. We're sorry to be leaving so soon.

Lovely family run b&b, very friendly and literally couldn't do enough for us. The room was really big and exceptionally clean, the bedding smelt amazing like comfort or lenor. The bed was also so comfy that we had difficult getting up of a morning! Very quiet place to stay. Breakfast was nice and again the owners couldn't do enough for us, even told us that we could have veggie sausages. They also gave us use of the iron and ironing board when we needed it. The only minor minor minor detail that I did pick up on is how quiet the breakfast room is of a morning. It's quite awkward being in there with other guests when conversations and eating can be over heard at all times. Some guests were very shy and whispering so as to not draw attention to themselves. Low level back ground music would be helpful just to ease the awkwardness a little. Having said that, it did not take away from the experience as a whole and how lovely the family are who run this place. Highly recommend.

Excellent bed and breakfast, stayed here for 5 days with my husband and can't wait to return. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Bed was incredibly comfy, spotlessly clean and the breakfast was to die for. Loved having a carpark which was out of site from the main road as well.

The hosts are so friendly, and make your stay very comfortable. The breakfast is very nice and the rooms are very comfortable. It's our second time staying and I would stay again. Very good bus and train. Links right outside the front door and within walking distance to torquay.
