About Silverlands Guest House

Torquay has long drawn visitors to Devon's English Riviera for its coastline and mild climate, and Silverlands Guest House gives travellers a straightforward base a short distance from the seafront on Newton Road. With 16 rooms, including family options with en-suite bathrooms and drinks provided in-room, it suits couples, families and small groups who want simple, comfortable accommodation without unnecessary extras.

Mornings start with a choice of cooked breakfast, and free WiFi is available throughout for those wanting to stay connected. A garden gives guests a place to sit outside, and free on-site parking removes one of the usual headaches of a seaside stay, particularly useful given Torquay's busy summer traffic.

The surrounding area caters to a wide range of interests, with golf, fishing, horse riding and watersports all nearby, alongside walking and cycling routes for those who prefer to explore on foot or by bike. Pubs, restaurants and entertainment venues within reach make it easy to fill evenings after a day on the coast.

Cleaning Angels Yorkshire

We booked for our visit to see our daughter and new grandson. Rose and mark were extremely accommodating. The rooms and communal areas were immaculate. The attention to details was amazing. Nice easy parking right outside (even for a big pick up truck) plus right next to the bus stop into Torquay so if you didn't want to drive you could just leave your car and hop on the bus which comes every ten minutes. Rooms were very well appointed and clean (Yorkshire tea would have been better than pg tips though ha ha,) but thats because were true yorkshire folk. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and plenty of it, all home cooked. Overall weve had a fantastic experience here and would definitely come back.

We stayed at Silverlands for 2 nights due to attending a funeral in the area. The hosts are lovely, very kind and welcoming. The room (room 9) was pleasant, warm and comfortable if a little on the small side. The power shower was great. We appreciated the tea-making facilities and biscuits, although fresh milk would be a nice touch if at all possible. Although the guesthouse is located on a very busy main road, the double glazing in our room effectively blocked out traffic noise. Full English breakfast was amazing, as others have mentioned! Piping hot, tasty and plentiful portions thank you. It was way better than the breakfast we received recently in a hotel costing twice the price. The guesthouse overall we felt was very good value for money. As someone who struggles a little with steep or uneven steps I would like to have better handrails outside, as the entrance from the car park to the front door is quite steep. Although we visited for a very sad occasion, our hosts made our stay as comfortable as possible.

What a brilliant guest house! Marc and Rose are great hosts and make you feel right at home. The breakfast is amazing, and the room was fantastic. There is a bus stop right outside and Torre rail station is just around the corner. We stopped for 3 nights and never used the car! Definitely the place to stay if you're visiting Torquay! Thank you Marc and Rose, we really enjoyed our visit. Lynn and Neil.
