The Sheiling Guesthouse sits right on the shore of Loch Broom on Garve Road, close enough to the water that loch and mountain views feature from many of its rooms. It is a five-minute walk from the CalMac ferry terminal, making it a convenient overnight stop either side of a Stornoway sailing.
Rooms include double en-suites, some able to accommodate dogs, and a twin en-suite, each fitted with free Wi-Fi, Freeview television and tea and coffee facilities. Guest reviews consistently highlight the cleanliness of the rooms and the quality of the cooked breakfast served each morning.
Its position a short walk from the town centre, combined with genuinely spectacular views for a property in this price range, has made it a repeat recommendation among visitors touring Wester Ross.

Everything about The Sheiling was perfect. Before arrival, the communication with Maureen was excellent - she offered many good tips so we could think well in advance about our Ullapool activities. Once there we were so impressed with the beautiful location - sitting just above the loch. The lounge made a lovely post-dinner spot to sit each evening, looking out as the light gradually faded. The walk to and from town was a pleasant 15 minutes. We loved the rooms. Ours was cosy and warm, with so many little touches - everything we could have needed, and a heavenly shower. Breakfast was great - brought to us by Mike, who was always lovely to chat to. Ullapool itself was great; we particularly enjoyed Cult Coffee for daytime snacks and The Ceilidh Place for evening meals and drinks (and a lovely bookshop). The boat trip on Shearwater Cruises was a highlight. A wonderful stay, and if we're ever up this far north again we'll surely come back!

Brilliant stay at Sheiling Guest House. The room was clean and cosy, and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. The location is perfect for exploring Ullapool and beyond. Thanks again!

This is a quaint and beautiful place to stay! Mike and Maureen are wonderful hosts, the rooms are the perfect size and clean with lovely views! Short walk into town to explore! Would stay again and highly recommend!

Waterfront bnb in Ullapool, just a short and pleasant walk from town. Michael and Maureen are lovely and very helpful and welcoming. Comfortable, cosy and cute!
