Birch Cottage
Wealden
Birch Cottage stands on an 11-acre private estate near Nutley, surrounded by rolling countryside and ancient woodland. The property is a short drive from Uckfield's shops and supermarkets, and a few minutes' walk to Nutley village. From here, Ashdown Forest is close enough for woodland walks and cycling, while Sheffield Park and Garden (National Trust) and Bewl Water lie within a reasonable journey for a day out.
The cottage has two bedrooms sleeping four: the first with a zip-and-link king bed (convertible to two singles on request), the second with two 3ft single beds. Downstairs is open plan, combining living space with a dining area and kitchen equipped for proper cooking. A shower room serves the ground floor. Bed linen, towels, WiFi and electricity are all included. Outside, a decked area with table and seating overlooks the grounds, and there's off-street parking on site. The whole property is yours alone. One well-behaved dog is welcome. No smoking inside.
The estate itself, managed as a charitable enterprise, offers guests access to footpaths through the woodlands and fields—lambs appear in spring, and the stream runs through the grounds. This works as a base for family holidays, quiet breaks or exploring the wider Sussex and East Sussex countryside.
