Darwin Cottage is a converted flint barn on the edge of Polegate, just across the courtyard from the owners' home. The layout spreads across two floors: downstairs, an open-plan living space with a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, a dining area and sitting room, plus a double bedroom and shower room; upstairs, two single beds and a full bathroom. There's parking on site, and wifi and towels come as standard.
What makes this location work is proximity to walking. The South Downs Way runs nearby, and the wider area holds Herstmonceux Castle, Pevensey Castle, Firle Place, Michelham Priory and the Bluebell Railway. The Eight Bells pub sits 100 yards away. Eastbourne's seafront lies seven miles south. The cottage suits families, couples or small groups wanting a base for exploring the South Downs or the East Sussex coast without staying in either. No smoking indoors.

Accommodation easy to find with the indications given on the site. Fully equipped for a short or long stay, you'll find everything you need. Friendly host. Pub right next door, remember to book to eat. About a 10-minute drive from the Seven Sisters. We had a lovely stay and highly recommend this accommodation.
