What visitors say
A gem of a museum with both art and history on display. Housed in the old police station and court house with bits of both preserved. There's something of interest for anyone. It's a rare museum to combine local history and art so well. We especially enjoyed the Flora Twort drawings on display.

A must-visit attraction for Petersfield residents past and present looking to explore the history of the town and its surrounding area. I visited with my daughter on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The exhibits are small but there is lots of interactive elements to them to keep kids entertained including the former cells. I would highly recommend if you haven’t already visited.

We went here for toddler takeover and I can't compliment the staff enough. So much effort had gone into the day, some absolutely lovely, authenticly cheery and incredibly helpful individuals. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and involved. Letting my son roll hundreds of balls down the ramp made his day!

I really liked this museum. You might think that because Petersfield is a small town it probably doesn't have much history. You would be wrong! It has been a market town since the 12th century and actually has a very interesting history. Also several famous people were born in/lived in Petersfield. It is in a Victorian police station so I got to see the old police cells.

Visitors say this history museum offers exceptional coffee and a welcoming atmosphere with helpful staff who are attentive to mobility issues. They also highlight the interesting and well-laid-out displays, and the current exhibition of art inspired by the South Downs.
