Blencathra Retreats - Castleriggs Cottage

Castleriggs Cottage is a single-storey property in Threlkeld where everything happens on the ground floor. You walk into an open-plan living space with a dining area and kitchen fitted with an electric oven, hob, microwave and fridge-freezer. The bedroom has a kingsize bed and the shower room has a cubicle shower. Essentials including electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered, and one dog can stay free as long as it remains on a lead—this is sheep country, after all.

The cottage sits in sheep and hiking territory, with Blencathra walks starting from the doorstep. There is parking for one car on site and a bike store if you want to explore further afield. Threlkeld itself has a pub within a mile and the village retains the character of a working Lake District settlement. The cottage forms part of a small cluster of properties sharing communal outdoor space, and guests have use of it alongside other visitors staying on site.
