Foxhole

Westmorland and Furness

Built centuries ago, Foxhole retains the character of Threlkeld's oldest cottages. Low ceilings, exposed oak beams and uneven floors speak to its age, while a wood burner and authentic bathroom with both bath and separate shower anchor the place firmly in the present. This end-of-terrace property sleeps 4 across two bedrooms—one with a double bed, one with bunks—and sits in the village heart where walks onto Blencathra and the surrounding fells begin at your door.

The ground floor holds a living room with a smart TV and DVD player, and a kitchen/dining room equipped for self-catering with a cooker, microwave and washing machine. Upstairs, the bathroom serves both bedrooms. Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; fuel for the wood burner is available locally. There is parking for one car on site and a lawned garden accessed via the rear lane, with furniture already in place. The stairs are partially open-sided.

Threlkeld village has two pubs within a short walk—the Horse and Farrier and the Salutation—and Keswick lies three miles away along an old railway line that's walkable on foot. Toys, games and maps are left for guests to use. No smoking in the property.
