Green Rose Cottages - Swallow’s Nest
Westmorland and Furness
Swallow's Nest began life as a waggon house and retains the character of its former use. The conversion has preserved the original beamed structure throughout, creating distinctive living spaces on a single level with full wheelchair access via ramp. Two bedrooms—one double, one single with an additional pull-out single bed—and a wet room with grab rails and shower seat make up the accommodation, all ground floor. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering with electric cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer, and there's a separate dining and living area with Freeview TV.
The cottage sits within a small courtyard complex in the Eden Valley, sharing garden furniture and parking (three spaces available) with one neighbouring property. Appleby is two miles away and hosts the gypsy horse fair each June; the town has a swimming pool, golf course, shops and restaurants. Penrith lies ten miles off, cycle hire and the Rheged Centre among its attractions. The location works well for walking in the surrounding fells, with the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales within reasonable reach and Hadrian's Wall an hour's drive. Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking inside the property.
