Lyndene

Lyndene is a four-bedroom Victorian house that sleeps eight, making it well suited to families or groups wanting more than just a quick weekend away. Two bathrooms—one with a bath and shower, one with a shower cubicle—mean people aren't queuing at dawn. The ground floor has a living room with a woodburner and a kitchen with full cooking facilities, plus a utility room with a washing machine. Bedrooms upstairs include two kingsize doubles and a further double, with two singles in the fourth room. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels come as standard, and one pet stays free.

The location sits between Windermere town and Bowness-on-Windermere, putting shops, cafés and restaurants within walking distance. Lake Windermere itself is close enough for boat trips, and the surrounding fell country is good for walking at any level. There's a pub within a mile. The house has an enclosed garden and bike storage, plus parking on the road outside. Smoking is not permitted.
