About Adam Place Guest House
Windermere is a natural base for exploring the Lake District, with the lake itself close by, Orrest Head's walking trails within reach, and the World of Beatrix Potter nearby for a change of pace. Adam Place Guest House sits within this setting, a Victorian building with just five rooms, offering a smaller and more personal alternative to the area's larger hotels.
Rooms are modest but practical, each en-suite, with family rooms available for those travelling with children. Breakfast is included, packed lunches can be arranged for a day on the fells, and free WiFi covers the building throughout. The dining room has a distinctive 1960s theme that sets it apart from the more traditional decor found elsewhere in the house, and there's a garden with outdoor seating for guests who want to sit outside between excursions.
Practical extras include 24-hour reception, luggage storage and a laundry service, useful for anyone breaking up a longer walking trip. Free parking is available nearby. Beyond the guest house, the surrounding area offers golf, fishing, horse riding and watersports, along with pubs, restaurants and other entertainment within easy distance, making it a straightforward spot to return to after a day exploring the lake and fells.

Linda and Chris were amazing hosts. I loved and enjoyed every moment of my stay and I will return. I loved hearing all their incredible stories. Linda is an encyclopedia of the Lake District, so will give you all the information you need. Breakfast was fantastic and set me up for the day. I didn't need lunch.

I stayed at Adam Place Guest House on my first-ever solo trip and I couldn't have chose a better place. Linda and Chris were very welcoming and made sure to check in with me in the morning. I loved the vegetarian breakfast option, you should definitely try the veggie sausages! The location is great, just a 10 minute walk to the train station and a roughly 20 minute walk to the lake, giving you the option to explore the town on your way. If you want to explore beautiful Lake District, Adam Place Guest House is a great (and cost-effective!) choice.

My daughter and I very much enjoyed our stay with Linda and Chris. Amazing hospitality and lovely conversations, topped off by a welcoming, clean room and tasty breakfast. Linda even gave us good bye hugs and stood on the porch to wave as we drove off. The guest house is located in a quiet location but central to everything. If we ever come back to the Lakes District, we will definitely stay here again.

Got welcomed by Linda and Glen (the boss) and got shown to the room. Very spacious, comfy bed warm shower and toiletries. Lots of channels missing on Freeview, so I just watched my favourite stuff on my phone, using the WiFi provided. Breakfast was tasty, and got another hello from Glen The Boss, who was lying down in the doorway of the back yard, and had a lovely chat with Linda and Chris about pets
