Slate Cottage

Slate Cottage is a terraced stone cottage in Windermere village, steps from the town centre and its pubs, restaurants and independent shops. The building has been refurbished while keeping its character intact. It sleeps four across two first-floor bedrooms, each with a kingsize bed and Freeview TV, and a ground-floor shower room. One small to medium dog is welcome.

Downstairs is open-plan: a living area with a woodburner and 32" smart TV flows into a dining space and kitchen. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking, with electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, and all the usual appliances. Upstairs the windows have acoustic glass. Essentials are covered—electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi—plus fuel for the woodburner and a travel cot and highchair if needed. There's private parking for one car and a small enclosed patio with garden furniture.

From here you can walk to Coniston, explore the local literary heritage, or venture into the Lake District's fells and valleys. Windermere itself is surrounded by countryside and sits beside England's largest lake. No smoking indoors.
