The Farriers is a converted coach house on the grounds of The Abbey Coach House, close to Windermere village. This one-bedroom apartment is all on the ground floor, with an open-plan living space that combines a sitting area, dining room and kitchen. The bedroom has a king-size bed, and there's one bathroom. Everything you need to cook and eat is here—electric cooker, microwave, fridge and breakfast bar—plus wi-fi, heating and parking for one car. Bed linen is provided.
The property sits within landscaped grounds with a patio and garden furniture. A pub is within a mile's walk, and shops and restaurants are even closer. From here you can reach Bowness and Lake Windermere itself on foot in about ten minutes. The wider area has drawn writers and artists for centuries: Wordsworth's home in Grasmere and Beatrix Potter's Hill Top at Sawrey are both nearby. Ambleside is also easily accessible. One well-behaved pet is welcome. Smoking is not permitted.

We stayed at the Farriers for a long weekend in February and had a wonderful time, even in the rain! The cottage is fully kitted out with everything you could need. The bed was extremely comfortable and we loved that it was also dog friendly. Mrs Bell was really helpful offering tips on where to go and which route to take. You can walk into Windermere in 5 mins and bowness a bit further. It was a great base to explore , a great find for what we needed. The parking was adequate for one vehicle and I expect in summer the use of the garden for BBQ’s would be perfect! We will be back.

Fantastic stay and owner pam very nice host, cottage outstanding everything you would need, great walks nearby, windermere and bowness easy walking distance, will go again anytime.
