The Lookout House

Westmorland and Furness

The Lookout House is a Victorian cottage built from stone, with wooden beams and whitewashed ceilings that give it genuine character. Located in Keswick in the heart of Westmorland and Furness, it sits in a rural setting yet has a pub within a mile—useful if you'd rather not cook after a day fell-walking. The whole property is yours alone.

Inside, a log burner warms the living room where you can settle on the sofas in the evenings. The kitchen at the back is properly equipped for self-catering, and there's a smart TV and WiFi if the weather turns. Upstairs you'll find two double bedrooms and a bathroom with both shower and bath. Electricity, bed linen and towels come as standard. One dog is welcome to stay with you.

The cottage works well for families or friends taking a Lake District break, with parking on the road outside. It's a straightforward base rather than a luxury retreat—somewhere to sleep well and head out to explore, or to sit by the fire on a wet afternoon.

Spacious, 5 ensuite bedroomed house on outskirts of Keswick. Nicely decorated and furnished, ample parking and pleasant gardens overlooking farmland and mountains. Very well placed for touring the area.

Just arrived back from our third stay at the Lookout. This is place is amazing. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, everything you need in the kitchen and both ovens worked perfectly well! The younger ones enjoyed the pool table and table tennis whilst the older ones enjoyed the amazing views. Location is great, close to the old railway line into Keswick and the pub is less than 5 minutes away. Bus stop just down the road for those tired legs on the way home. What more could you ask for, thanks again. We have already re-booked for next year!

Christmas for 7days, 10 adults. Great view winter or summer. Shame about the cooking facilities, the ovens in both sections of the accommodation were very poor making Christmas dinner prep stressful. We’ve stayed in large accommodation over Christmas in the Lakes, Northumberland & Scotland & never had such difficulties. Views don't make up for everything😡

An absolutely fabulous luxury house, with amazing views, incredible facilities, super comfortable beds and sitting areas, lovely and warm, loads of room for everyone - to be honest I cannot do it justice! We've had the most amazing week.
