Prospect Hill climbs above Whitby's old harbour, and Anchorage House sits along it, close enough to the water to make the most of the town on foot. It's an adults-only guest house, which keeps things quiet, and free on-site parking takes the stress out of arriving in a town where kerbside space is tight.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks provided, and breakfast is included to set guests up for the day. Free WiFi and 24 hour reception cover the practical side, so late arrivals and lazy mornings are equally easy.
The harbour, pubs, restaurants and local eateries are all within reach, and the coast beyond offers walking routes, fishing and watersports for those who want to get out and about. This was our first stay here and we would definitely recommend and go again. Lovely host who was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Lovely touches like a little refrigerator in the room and proper glasses for wine and bottle opener. Breakfast was delivered to our door as we had a table and chairs and this was a great idea x Breakfast was delicious 😋 plenty of choice

I don't usually give a review but this time I will! Could not have had a better experience great hosts, great room's, breakfast omelette excellent, just away from the tourist noise, next to the cinder track off road cycle/walking route to Robin Hoods Bay and on to Scarborough. Looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely place clean comfortable and welcoming. We visited for my 50th Birthday and they made it feel special. Breakfast in the room was a nice touch and the food was all fresh and well presented and plenty.

The hotel is absolutely immaculate. Beautifully decorated only met mick but he was so friendly brilliant host. Breakfast in your room was gorgeous with a good choice everything you could ask for. Fridge in room with water and fresh milk and tea and coffee making facilities biscuits. Looking forward to returning here for another great wend soon.
