We have just returned from our 2nd wonderful stay at Wheatlands Lodge. This is 5 star accommodation with lots of lovely thoughtful extras that make a difference. The location is perfect as it is close to the train station and lots of eating places and also accommodates for parking which is an added bonus. Our room was gorgeous and so peaceful overlooking the garden with the comfiest bed ever. The breakfast setting and the choice and quality of food was outstanding even accommodating for my husband who is gluten free. Mike and Lynn have a wealth of knowledge of the Lakes and are always happy to offer any advise and recommendations for the area - each visit we learnt something new. I can highly recommend this guest house to anyone - perfect location, beautiful rooms, lovely breakfast - we will definitely be returning again. Thanks again Mike and Lynn.

Perfect location, walkable to bus, train, city center, yet tucked away on a quiet street. Lynn and Mike maintain a top tier property and offer great ideas for seeing the area. Start your day with delicious breakfast choices in an elegant dining room, after a good night's sleep in a well-appointed room with a comfortable bed. Highly recommend and look forward returning to Wheatlands Lodge.

We had an amazing weekend staying here for a family wedding. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, going above and beyond to make everything feel special. The catering was fantastic and really added to the whole experience. Their attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile made the wedding feel perfect. The owners are a lovely couple, and we’d definitely come back again—even if we’re just passing by, we’d happily pop in to say hello. Highly recommend!

Just back and it was just perfect. Very quiet yet within easy reach of Windermere, walkable to Bowness-On-Windermere (15/20 mins) & a very reliable and frequent nearby bus service to places like Bowness, Grasmere, Ambleside and beyond. Small car park. Room we had looked out over the garden and fittings were all good quality and tasteful. Comfortable beds. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was served by booking a specific time slot, with a choice of menu. Would definitely return if we’re ever back in the area.
