A breakfast spread with a genuinely good selection sets the tone at Windermere Park B&B, on New Road in the heart of Windermere. The 15 rooms are simple and comfortable, each with an en-suite bathroom, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. There's a garden to sit in, free WiFi throughout, and drinks provided in the room, while luggage storage and a laundry service take care of the practical side of a longer stay.
Spread across three floors, the B&B offers free on-site parking and welcomes pets, and childcare can be arranged for guests who need it. Service is generally friendly and helpful, though a few stays have noted the odd lapse in professionalism from staff.
The location is well placed for getting out into the Lake District, with walking and cycling routes close by, along with fishing, watersports and a golf course. Pubs, bars and restaurants are within easy reach for evenings out, and there's plenty of entertainment nearby to fill the rest of a stay.

My partner and I, with our two dogs (Belgian Malinois and Labradoodle) stayed here for 2 nights (Thursday to Saturday). The place is lovely, very charming and the rooms are lovely and comfortable! The staff are brilliant and so attentive. Breakfast is great and more than enough to set you up for the day, whether climbing Scafell or having a long walk around many of the nearby Lakes. The location is ideal, enabling a walk to Bowness within 15-20 minutes and the hustle and bustle of Windermere itself just on the doorstep. Whilst situated on a fairly busy road, at night the location is surprisingly quiet! 10/10 - will be staying again! Thank you so much to Alex and Seth!

Central to town if you like going to restaurants. Next to city library(just across the road) 25-30 mins walk to the lakes. Unfortunately quite dated and not very clean for £120 per night even after discount on Expedia. Extra charge of £15 per night for pet. Breakfast was ok, self serve for cold and order for hot food. First breakfast was ok, second had one egg when asked for two and small amount of mushrooms (about 10 halves) and one tomato cut into two. (I didn’t ask for sausage or bacon as I was trying to lose weight) but I’m not trying to starve myself 🙄 Picture of toilet was check in condition. Told receptionist which was also owner who came to clean it but you could still see the stain on the back of the toilet. (At first it was even on top of the seat 😭). They honored my request for quiet room with bathtub but cleanliness wise I just couldn’t bring myself to use the tub. Lovely lady but understaffed-just her partner and her running, cleaning and making food. Unfortunately wasn’t worth the £135 per night after discount for me based on the state of the place. Coniston Inn 30 mins away had stunning views, less than 5 mins from the water, winter promotion of buffet breakfast and 2 course dinner(no limitation on price you choose) for £150 a night, I stayed for 3 nights before an impromptu last minute booking for Windermere park for 2 nights as I wasn’t ready to go home yet. Free parking both here and Coniston Inn. (Top requirement for me).

Great location, just a short walk from Windermere town centre. Staff were very friendly on arrival and throughout the stay, and were very accommodating and helpful despite being very busy. Good breakfast.The room was a decent size, and the bed was very comfy. Our two dogs were made very welcome. Really good vibe about the place.

We had a great three night stay here with our dog. The staff were all super friendly, breakfast was great (they even gave our dog a sausage!) and the location is perfect for exploring Windemere. Some of the decor is a bit tired / worn and could do with a refresh but we still enjoyed our time here and would recommend it!
