What a beautiful place! We stayed in the treehouse and enjoyed every second. So much thought has been put into the accommodation, the facilities, and the kitchen was the best stocked we've come across! Our daughter loved meeting Daisy the dog and exploring the site. It's going to be a memory that we cherish forever. Thankyou so much for creating such a beautiful place 💖 Note: We're very outdoorsy as a family and camp a lot. We loved being able to light a real fire, and cook outside, and use the compost loo! If you're not particularly outdoorsy, or looking for a 'posh glamping experience' then this isn't for you.

It's taken me this long to work out how to make a review on Google. We stayed here at The treehouse at Copse Camp in March for a birthday. Ended up being a stunning few days, watching the sunrise from the mezzanine bed and the sunset from our own private hot tub. It was the perfect time of year to enjoy the view through the trees and cosy up next to the fires as the night drew in. We booked the plunge pool and sauna one morning which was a lovely treat albeit very cold. Jenny and Margaret are great hosts as was their dog Daisy who would often say hello while we were making our morning coffees. We only left the site when we checked out as we were locals anyway and needed a couple of days to switch off from the real world. This place will take you back to basics; no WiFi, compost loo and a 2 ring hob or a fire pit for cooking. Slow living close to nature. When we checked out we followed well walked paths to Carn Y Brain (trig point) near the Horseshoe Pass from the site.

Stunning location and fab lodge. We stayed for new year and could not fault it. The hosts gave a warm welcome and even included check in gifts for the dogs. Log fire was fab and hot tub was a bonus once heated. Would return and recommend to others. We were lucky enough to wake up to thick snow and amazing views.

This was a disappointing stay and not the birthday weekend I’d wanted to surprise my partner with. I booked Owl Lodge through Booking.com, as shown in my email confirmation (screenshot included) and in the property address shown within my account. Upon arrival, however, we discovered we’d been placed in a different unit called The Dog House, which was smaller than Owl Lodge and clearly aimed at dog owners (see below). I wouldn’t have chosen to stay here had I known we’d be staying in The Dog House. The Booking.com listing makes no mention of The Dog House and appears to show photos of both properties, which is misleading at best. Communication from the hosts was very poor. I heard nothing from them in the days and hours prior to check-in. I had to chase twice, by WhatsApp message and phone call (which was not answered), before finally receiving confirmation that we were expected - 40 minutes after the supposed check-in time. I then had to chase again for basic access details, leaving us struggling to find the place in the dark after a very long drive. Nobody followed up to make sure we’d arrived safely and were happy with the accommodation. The Dog House was clearly configured for dogs, with large dog access holes cut into both internal doors. This significantly reduced privacy between rooms, including the bathroom. There was a strong dog smell and a rug which was visibly very dirty. We never agreed to this arrangement and found it unpleasant as we didn’t have a dog with us. There were many other issues with the property. There was no working WiFi, despite this being listed as an amenity. The fire gloves provided inside the accommodation had a hole in one of the fingertips; I hurt my finger and narrowly avoided a more serious burn. The property also appeared not to have been properly prepared, with signs of a rushed turnaround (e.g. an unswept fire). The sauna required an additional payment of £15 per person, which was not disclosed in the Booking.com listing, and the hot tub was so poorly insulated that it was still lukewarm after 8 hours of constant heating. On departure, there was a long list of checkout instructions, which rubbed salt into the wound given the disappointing stay we’d had. Despite the extensive list of dos and don’ts, there was no information about the local area, which seems like a real missed opportunity. I see that many others have enjoyed staying here; there are certainly positives, such as the beautiful setting and the edible gifts provided on arrival. Overall though, I felt very let down and would not recommend this place or return.
