Cottage 3 sits within reach of the Yorkshire Wolds' walking trails and the market towns that pepper the region, yet only 5 miles from York itself. The city offers year-round things to do: the Minster, Castle Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre, the racecourse, and regular festivals. The city walls are walkable, ghost tours run regularly, and riverboat trips depart from the centre. Independent shops fill the streets alongside larger outlets at Vangarde and Monks Cross.

The cottage is on a single level with two bedrooms—one with a double bed and one with two singles—and two shower rooms with cubicle showers. The open-plan living space combines a sitting area with sofas, a dining area, and a kitchen fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge. Wi-Fi, electricity and heating are included. There is private parking for up to four cars and a sitting-out area with garden furniture. One well-behaved pet is welcome.

Beyond York, stately homes at Castle Howard, Beningbrough Hall and Sledmere House are within driving distance, as are the market towns of Malton, Helmsley and Pickering. The North York Moors steam train runs through the area, and the coast at Filey, Scarborough and Whitby is roughly an hour away. No smoking in the property.
