Minsters Reach Apartment Three

Photo: Minster's Reach Holiday Apartments, York, UK

Minsters Reach Apartment Three is a one-bedroom apartment on the first floor of a secure gated courtyard, a short walk from York's city centre. The property is fully self-contained with everything needed for a comfortable stay: electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. A public car park is available nearby at additional cost.

The open plan living, dining and kitchen area occupies most of the space, with a sofa bed in the living section and a full range of kitchen appliances—oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge-freezer—for proper cooking rather than basic heating. The bedroom has a kingsize bed. The bathroom includes a bath with shower over and a heated towel rail. Both the living room and bedroom have smart TVs. The courtyard has garden furniture and a sitting-out area.

The location suits anyone wanting to explore York without being in the thick of the night-time scene; pubs and restaurants are within easy reach, and the city walls and central attractions are walkable. Smoking is not permitted in the apartment.

Very disappointing – unacceptable for £295 per night Apartment 4 | 27/12/2025 We arrived at 4pm to find the apartment not properly cleaned and not ready for check-in. Toilets, floors, cupboards, and surfaces were dirty and unhygienic, which was especially worrying as we were travelling with children. Although we contacted the property immediately and someone attended briefly, only the beds were changed (not the sofa bed) and the cleaning was superficial. The apartment was still not hygienically clean. As it was already 6pm and we had children with us, we had no choice but to buy cleaning products and clean the apartment ourselves. For £295 per night, this standard is completely unacceptable. We would not stay here again. A £150 deposit was also charged after payment and refunded two days later, not after checkout as is usually standard.

To start, the unit is tidy and moderately close to the old town in York. There are lots of shops to explore, and some very good food on offer at the Duke of York pub (I'd give it a 5/5!). I wouldn't be surprised if the unit has been recently remodelled or refitted: quite a lot of the appliances and fittings show very little indication of wear, the general feel of the place is good We were a little disappointed in that it lacked some of the "trivial basics" such as salt and pepper. The bed in the bedroom is comfortable, and the pull out sofa bed is apparently more comfortable than expected, though my son didn't go into more detail.

I can't recommend Minster's Reach highly enough! Stunning apartment in a perfect location. Situated just a few minutes walk to the city centre (but far enough away that it is very peaceful) and the car park is situated immediately behind the apartment. The beds are extremely comfortable and the apartment was very well equipped and had everything that we needed. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in York!
