Lovely staff and beautiful gardens. Great breakfast and option to eat in dining room or room- we did both and the food was good. Room very dated- not deluxe! Bathroom fan didn't work, so everything was steamed up after showering. Very slow plumbing- had to wait a while to be able to flush the toilet again. Bathroom needs updating. Air con didn't work. Lack of information for breakfast/dining times- all online which was a phaff to login and keep checking. Room not very clean. Thick dust along the skirting board by the desk- could be easily cleaned. TV is audio descriptive and was unable to turn off. Had to ask for housekeeping and on the final day the room still hadn't been cleaned by 3:30pm despite them coming in the morning and we said we would be leaving soon. Did provide towels and coffee/milk when housekeeping came at 4 to do the room. We were asked if we wanted it cleaned but it was so late in the day and we were getting ready to go out. Cobwebs from window to mirror. No place to have up anything, apart from the wardrobe.

Came in to stay overnight. Absolutely loved the hotel. Everyone were really friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious with a big comfy bed. My favourite part of the whole room was the big mirrors in the room. The breakfast choice was amazing there was everything starting with pancakes finishing with full English breakfast. Everything was made fresh for breakfast. Minus one star because the pool could have been warmer, the jacuzzi was a perfect temperature however the pool was a bit cold. The hotel is located at a beautiful location, with horse race tracks as the back garden. Perfect place for you if you’re a fan of horse races. Would definitely recommend this hotel as it was very quiet and relaxing. Will definitely be coming back.

A very good hotel with nice rooms and a good breakfast. The staff are excellent and friendly. It is convenient for York centre. The downside is the ridiculous car parking charge, the hotel clearly owns the car park but penalise customers by charging £7 a day to park (you find that out at check in)! Absolutely outrageous!

This hotel is amazing. We’ve been coming here as a family of 4 for over 7 years and every time it’s great. We’ve especially come for the pool and breakfast which are both excellent. I’d like to highlight the exemplary breakfast staff who do their upmost to make sure it’s special. Special hot chocolate? No problem. Special hot muffins? No problem. We use the family sized rooms and they’re great for a family of 4 with 2 big kids.
