About Carmelite
Aberdeen's city centre is home to Carmelite, a 52-room hotel on Stirling Street that pairs sleek, modern rooms with a distinctly Scottish sense of character. The building's public spaces stand out as much as the bedrooms, with a quirky piano bar and a restaurant decorated with local art giving the place a personality beyond the usual hotel formula.
Guests have access to an indoor swimming pool, gym and spa or sauna, along with a garden, free on-site parking and an electric vehicle charge point. Breakfast and a full restaurant and bar service cover food and drink, while free WiFi, a lift, porter and concierge services, and luggage storage take care of the practical side of a stay. The hotel also handles weddings and business events, and childcare can be arranged for guests who need it.
Hazelhead Park and its Pets Corner are within easy reach for a walk or a family outing, and the hotel's central Aberdeen address puts the rest of the city close at hand. It's a solid base for exploring the city, whether the visit is for business, a wedding, or simply a night away.

What guests say
We recently stayed at the Carmelite Hotel in Aberdeen and had a lovely stay overall. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city, making it easy to get around. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. Our room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated, making it a comfortable place to relax. The only downside was that the water for both the bath and shower wasn't very hot and was quite cold during our stay. Also, the hotel bar and restaurant were not open at the time we visited. However, there are plenty of great places to eat and drink nearby, and the hotel had no issue with us bringing food and drinks back to enjoy in our room. Overall, despite a couple of minor issues, we had a pleasant stay and would happily consider staying here again.

Great option for a place to stay in Aberdeen. The location is great, being only a couple minutes walk from the train station. We unknowingly booked a room called "The Best Room". This was one of the nicer hotel rooms I've stayed in and was the cheapest place we stayed while visiting Scotland! Great room, great service, great price.

Great little hotel. We stayed in the bullnose suite which overall was very charming but the flooring was very dirty. The bathroom floor looks disgusting to be on. The carpet in the main area of the room is very dirty and the wardrobe area is peeling off. Shower was cold in the morning but hot at night. The hotel is great value for money and did well for our one night stay. The bed was comfy and the room overall felt okay, it just needs an overhaul/revamp.

Rooms were average. Let's say clean. The absolute bare minimum in every way. This is not a boutique hotel, its a bog standard, room only establishment. The staff denied that I called ahead regarding mobility issues and I was assured it was completely accessible and I would be able to keep my mobility scooter with me. However, I have to leave it in a locked cupboard and ask for the staff's permission to get it, that is the exact opposite of accessible. If you're not disabled, you won't understand. If you are, don't stay here. The bog standard room was what one would expect except its really tiny, the 'bathroom is a tightly squeezed in shower room with no hand rails. I will have to get on the floor of the shower and crawl back to the bed to hoist myself up. Look, there isn't even a bedside light. Full blaring overheads or darkness. I would find it funny but I'm completely exhausted and have cried for most of the night. The staff seemed nice until Yvonne basically accused me of lying about calling to check accessibilty and the night porter actually called my daughter to find out what time I would be back with the scooter. I felt like a naughty child who stayed out too late. I was back by 10.15pm - unbelievable really. I can't wait to go home and I'll be seeking a refund and compensation for misrepresentation regarding accessibility
