About The Chester Hotel

The Chester Hotel occupies a row of converted Victorian granite townhouses on Queens Road, in Aberdeen's leafy West End, and has built a reputation as one of the city's most fashionable places to stay. Behind the traditional granite facade, the interiors are thoroughly contemporary, with bold colour, statement lighting and a level of detail that has made it a popular choice for both business travellers and couples marking an occasion.

Rooms range from smart standard doubles to larger suites, all finished with a similar design sensibility, and the hotel's IX restaurant and cocktail bar have their own following independent of overnight guests, drawing a steady stream of locals in for dinner or drinks. A small gym and treatment rooms are available for guests wanting to unwind after a day exploring the city.

The West End location is a fifteen to twenty minute walk from Union Street and the railway station, or a short taxi ride, and sits within easy reach of Hazlehead Park and the West End's own cluster of independent shops and restaurants, making it a good base for anyone wanting a quieter setting than the city centre.

We dined here on Sunday evening July 19th for a birthday dinner and from start to finish the service, food and hospitality were all excellent. The dining room decor was tasteful and elegant. Our waiters especially Alex were friendly and professional in every aspect. Would definitely recommend this hotel for fine dining. There were no issues with the whole experience at this beautiful hotel. Well done to everyone and keep up the high standards of hospitality.

Had a pleasant evening.. The blue period was purple and didn’t change colour. The poltergeist was overly friendly, the strobe lighting was a vibe, the bill was twice the amount but we had a great evening with Alex and Fraser! Top blokes who made my Aberdeen experience a well worth trip up! Kudos boys! ✌🏼

This was a really great hotel, we stayed in a room that was on the very top floor and was the only room on that floor, I think it was room 45 but, it’s really big and super nice with a nice view out the back. There’s a real cool bar downstairs in a super fancy restaurant that we did not eat at. All of the staff were beyond friendly, they really made them stay nice. If you’re in this area, I would recommend staying. It’s kind of in our neighborhood and it was fun to walk around and look at all different houses and there was a small bodega nearby to grab some needed supplies. We also found a liquor store nearby so everything you need is pretty close.

Had lunch here with family. I had a club sandwich which was delicious and a decent portion size, not too big but too small, I then had a sticky toffee pudding and ice cream for desert which was also great and not too sickly like a lot of other sticky toffee puddings I’ve ate in the past. The atmosphere was great, it had a calm and cozy vibe. The staff were very polite and helpful. Would highly recommend.
