Asloun Farmstay - Damil Cottage

Damil Cottage sits on working farmland three miles from Alford, in the heart of Aberdeenshire's countryside. The village itself has shops and services, while the surrounding landscape offers extensive walking country—particularly appealing if you're travelling with a dog, as one pet stays free. The cottage is single-storey throughout, making it easy to navigate with young children or less mobile guests.

Inside, three bedrooms sleep six: two have zip-and-link super king beds that can be separated into singles, while the third has a bunk bed. The bathroom is a shower room. A living room with an open fire and television looks out to the front garden, which has seating and furniture for outdoor time. The kitchen and dining area are equipped for cooking proper meals rather than snacking—electric oven, hob, microwave, and washing machine included. Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered in the price, and the fire's initial fuel is supplied. You have the whole property to yourself, with parking for three cars on site. No smoking inside.

The surrounding area has castles within reach, traditional pubs and restaurants in nearby villages, and scope for fishing and cycling if you want to venture further than a walk.
