Nether Burrows Farm - The Pig Barn

The Pig Barn started life as working farm buildings where staff once lived above the animals. Now a holiday home for four, it retains the character of its origins while offering the comfort of a contemporary interior. Two bedrooms occupy the upper floor, each with a king-size bed that can be split into singles and its own en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower and heated towel rail. Downstairs, an open-plan living and dining space looks out over the Derbyshire countryside, with a kitchen equipped for self-catering and a wood-burning stove for cooler evenings.
What sets this property apart is the private hot tub sunk into a lawned garden, backed by the use of four acres of farm grounds. Parking for two cars sits on site, and the essentials—heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi—are all included. Access is via a rough track leading to the farm's edge, and there is an unfenced pond in the grounds. The location suits those after genuine countryside quietness rather than proximity to town, though Ashbourne and its High Street lie within reach for supplies and dining out. No smoking indoors.

Had a great few days staying at farmhouse cottage. Great location for exploring the southern peak District area. Lovely clean cottage with everything we needed including the fantastic hot tub! Very quiet location as well. Would definitely visit again.

We stayed here for 3 nights as had my son's wedding at Grangefields. We booked Meadow view and Willow Barn and others in wedding party booked the Farmhouse. The houses were great for our family and friends to all stay together and great location to get to the wedding. We were able to have a post wedding get together with bbq and use of field for sports activities. Would thoroughly recommend.

Our immediate impression of the Farmhouse at Gainsborough Retreats was highly positive. The property is nestled within beautifully landscaped grounds and idyllic countryside, offering an excellent layout that effortlessly accommodated our group of 10. The sole reason for a three-star rating relates to the mattress in our bedroom. The springs popped loudly with every movement, which significantly disrupted our sleep and ultimately forced us to relocate to a different bedroom on our second night to get some rest. Aside from this issue, the accommodation is highly commendable. I would gladly recommend a stay here and would certainly return in the future, provided the mattress in that specific room is replaced

Meadow View here was an excellent property for a family celebration weekend for up to 14 people. It is very spacious and all the bedrooms are comfortable with plenty of bath/shower facilities. I was also impressed by the amount of crockery and glassware. The games room was very popular for those needing some activity.
