Sunshine Cottage works equally well for families needing space, groups of friends after a weekend away, or couples wanting to bring others along. The converted barn on Nether Burrows Farm offers four bedrooms across three floors, each with its own en-suite bathroom, plus a hot tub on the private patio. The ground floor has underfloor heating, an open-plan kitchen and living area with a woodburner, and direct access to the south-facing garden.
Bedrooms range from zip-and-link super-kings (convertible to singles) on the first floor to a standard double and another zip-and-link king on the second floor. Bathrooms include both baths and walk-in showers with anti-mist mirrors. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric range, dishwasher, and all the basics—so you can prepare meals together or keep things simple. Essentials like bed linen, towels, heating and electricity are included; wi-fi is available throughout. A travel cot and highchair are on hand for younger children.
The property sits within grounds shared by other holiday lets on the farm, though your accommodation and hot tub are entirely yours. Parking is private. The patio garden and lawned areas give you space to spread out, and the setting is genuinely quiet. Note that there is a fenced lake elsewhere in the grounds. Smoking is not permitted inside.

Had a great few days staying at farmhouse cottage. Great location for exploring the southern peak District area. Lovely clean cottage with everything we needed including the fantastic hot tub! Very quiet location as well. Would definitely visit again.

We stayed here for 3 nights as had my son's wedding at Grangefields. We booked Meadow view and Willow Barn and others in wedding party booked the Farmhouse. The houses were great for our family and friends to all stay together and great location to get to the wedding. We were able to have a post wedding get together with bbq and use of field for sports activities. Would thoroughly recommend.

Our immediate impression of the Farmhouse at Gainsborough Retreats was highly positive. The property is nestled within beautifully landscaped grounds and idyllic countryside, offering an excellent layout that effortlessly accommodated our group of 10. The sole reason for a three-star rating relates to the mattress in our bedroom. The springs popped loudly with every movement, which significantly disrupted our sleep and ultimately forced us to relocate to a different bedroom on our second night to get some rest. Aside from this issue, the accommodation is highly commendable. I would gladly recommend a stay here and would certainly return in the future, provided the mattress in that specific room is replaced

Meadow View here was an excellent property for a family celebration weekend for up to 14 people. It is very spacious and all the bedrooms are comfortable with plenty of bath/shower facilities. I was also impressed by the amount of crockery and glassware. The games room was very popular for those needing some activity.
