About Easedale Lodge
Compston Road sits within easy walking distance of Ambleside's centre, with the fells of the Lake District rising beyond the rooftops, and Easedale Lodge makes the most of that position. This Victorian guest house has seven rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, and several take in mountain views over the surrounding countryside.
A full English breakfast is included to set guests up for the day, and free WiFi runs throughout the building alongside a 24 hour reception for flexible arrivals and departures. Free on-site parking is available, which is a genuine convenience given the town's narrow streets, and pets are welcome for those travelling with dogs.
Ambleside itself offers pubs, bars and restaurants within easy reach, while the wider area caters to walkers and cyclists, with fishing, golf and watersports also nearby. It suits visitors who want a comfortable, well-placed base for exploring Cumbria's countryside rather than a destination in itself.

So this is no longer a B&B but a holiday let. Sleeps 14 comfortable, loads of bathrooms even if each bedroom does not have an ensuite. (Shower in the only twin room is amazing) The 2 sitting rooms are perfect as only one has a TV in it, we went with 4 kids so they could watch their cartoons whilst others could have quiet time in a comfortable sofa. The dining room easily fits everyone staying, but the kitchen is very small and is stocked with a large cooker, air fryer, kettle, 4 slot toaster, dishwasher and a deceptively small microwave. There are 2 fridges and a large freezer, plus a washer/dryer. There was a few issues we came across, but most were sorted quickly. Although do take extra toilet roll as they don't leave enough if you are staying for a week. Only thing that was missing was there was no airer, so struggled to dry wet clothes that couldn't be tumble dried. Which was all of the waterproofs! Lovely British weather. Parking - we got 4 cars in the carpark easily Location - couldn't ask for better in Ambleside within easy walk of the shops and restaurants, plus the bus station and the play park. Lovely base for a week of walking and family time

I booked 3 nights here in mid-December for my wife and I to relax and also celebrate a big occasion. Upon arrival parking was easy. We were greeted promptly and attentively by a very friendly and welcoming host, Andrea. She advised us they had just taken over ownership of the business only days earlier! Well what can I say about the service here?! Despite the challenges she must have had with family being here, there and everywhere, Christmas being almost upon us and all the extra work that involves, and still finding her feet in a brand new business she was incredible throughout and nothing (and I mean NOTHING!) was too much trouble. The room was lovely and clean, the building and features beautiful, breakfast lovely (she didn't bat an eyelid at us arriving right at the end of the breakfast window and expecting a full cooked English!) and service superb. The location is excellent- Chinese take away 20 second walk. Pub and restaurants within a minutes walk. Tesco within 5 minute walk. Walks to waterfalls 10 minutes or so.. I don't know what Andrea has done previously but I'm absolutely sure this place will only go from strength to strength with her at the reins because reading between the lines it's clear she has a real attention to detail and to great service, and just as important, she's just a really nice and honest person. We would go back here with no hesitation. If you're torn over where to stay, let this review guide you! Thank you for a lovely stay and best wishes, Martin and Sarah x

Fantastic B&B in the heart of the Lake District! We visited nearly all the Lakes in a week, 3 passes and lots of hills. Very clean rooms. Lovely view. Very friendly hosts. Great service. Very good breakfast, full English or omelet with baked beans where my favourites. Private parking. Very close to the centre. We'll definitely come back. Thank you so much! Fiona & Ray!

Sarah and David were great hosts. Advised us to book our restaurants due to the situation so glad we did. Very comfortable bed and a hearty breakfast. Excellent location to explore the lakes and fells. Will definitely go back.
