The Cart Shed

The Cart Shed suits couples or small groups after a simple base in Ambleside. It's a single bedroom with a king and a single bed, a private en-suite shower room, and enough space for three people to sleep comfortably. You get electricity, bed linen and towels; Wi-Fi is also provided. There's a wardrobe, a couple of chairs, a dressing table that works for laptop use, and a hair dryer. A welcome tray is left for you on arrival.

This is a room-only property with no kitchen, so eating out or taking meals elsewhere is the way forward. Off-site parking for one car is a short walk away, and street parking near the building can work for drop-off. Check-in is digital and happens after 16:00. The location puts you in the middle of Ambleside's town centre, within a mile of a pub and surrounded by the fell scenery that makes the Lake District draw walkers and cyclists year-round. Lake Windermere is within reach for boating, and the surrounding landscape offers countless hiking routes. No smoking inside.
