Just had the most wonderful time at Compston House. Meg and John are fantastic hosts who made is feel so welcome from the minute we arrived. The property is immaculate. Room was perfect spacious and clean. Location is brilliant for all walks, perfect for restaurants and local pubs. Thank you both for making our vist and my husband's birthday so memorable. Me and my girlfriend booked this weekend getaway last minute, and it was everything we were looking for! We couldn’t thank Meg & John enough for the amazing service they provided, they were so welcoming and informative about the local area (walks, pubs etc). The location was great, breakfast was superb and the rooms were clean and spacious. Could fault it at all, definitely would recommend and hope to be back soon! Also Mia was a lovely addition, such a gorgeous dog!

Stayed for 1 night midweek.Unfortunately chose the day when Part of the car park on King St was sectioned off but managed to bag the last space which was free due to the permit issued by the hotel which was great. The welcome was fantastic and Meg & John are fabulous hosts. The decor of the hotel was very nice and the carpet throughout was immaculate..looked new. My room was clean & comfortable and had tea/coffee making which is always good. Incident with shower in the morning which was swiftly dealt with. It transpires that room had not been upgraded as yet but they had done a lot of work /renovation since 2017 to the rooms.As I say, the interior of the hotel was lovely including the lounge. Breakfast was very satisfying with a great choice and table service! Enjoyed breakfast very much. Overall a very pleasant and comfortable stay with superb hosts in a great location. I can't wait to come back.
