Argyll and Bute
You arrive at a traditional stone cottage that started life as a ferryman's house, then modernised and extended into something altogether more spacious. Single storey, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, sleeping six. The large sitting room and dining room face the water, with views across to Seil Island. Everything needed for a self-catering stay is here: electricity, wi-fi, bed linen provided, and a kitchen equipped for cooking proper meals.
The cottage sits at the water's edge on the Ardmaddy estate, reached via an unmade road that leads away from everyday noise. A mooring and jetty are yours to use. This corner of Argyll and Bute is known for wildlife – porpoises, dolphins, otters, eagles and seabirds are regularly spotted. The estate offers fishing on its hill loch and use of a tennis court. Boat hire for sailing and rowing is available locally. Oban, about twelve miles away, is the base for ferries to the Inner Hebridean islands and has restaurants and shops. Walkers find forest tracks and coastal paths nearby; climbers and skiers are within reach of Glencoe and Fort William. Dogs are welcome. No smoking inside.
