Candle Cottage

Candle Cottage stands on elevated ground above the Arun valley, where views reach across towards Arundel Castle and the South Downs beyond. The cottage is detached, set apart from neighbours, with parking for two cars on site. The surrounding countryside offers immediate walking access—footpaths climb the lower slopes of the Downs from the doorstep, with views stretching to the coast and along the ridge in both directions.

Downstairs contains a living room with a smart TV and woodburner, plus a kitchen-dining space with an electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Bi-fold doors open onto a terrace where garden furniture and a barbecue are provided, enclosed within a private garden. Two bedrooms upstairs—one with a zip-and-link super kingsize bed (or twin singles on request), the other with two single beds—share a bathroom with a bath, shower and toilet. Underfloor heating runs throughout, and essentials including electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered.

Arundel itself, a short drive away, is a market town with castle and cathedral, craft and antique shops, and restaurants. The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust lies nearby. Burpham village has a gastro pub and a Norman church. The property is non-smoking.
