About Eglinton Guest House

Eglinton Guest House suits travellers who want a straightforward, affordable base rather than a polished hotel experience - golfers heading to nearby courses, visitors passing through South Ayrshire, or anyone happy to trade extra comforts for value. The building dates back to the 18th century and has ten rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, and free WiFi. Rooms are kept simple rather than stylish, so this works best for guests who prioritise a comfortable bed and a fair price over decor.

A hot breakfast is included each morning, and there's a garden with a sitting area where guests can relax outside. Free on-site parking is available, along with luggage storage, and pets are welcome. The location puts golf, fishing, and entertainment within easy reach, alongside a choice of pubs, bars, and restaurants nearby.

Ayr town centre is just over a mile away, and Royal Troon Golf Club is a notable point of interest close by. It's a practical choice for those who want to explore the area without paying for extras they won't use.

Beautiful house and very friendly proprietor Julia. Lovely quiet street for parking. At night you can hear a pin drop! Very centrally located - you can walk to the beach or to the town centre very easily. It is such a beautiful area of Ayr, even just to walk through and admire all the architecture. Highly recommended, and I would definitely stay here again if I'm back in Ayr. Thank you.

Perfect overnight stay in Ayr. The room was very clean and cozy. The host was lovely and made the best breakfast.

Fabulous Scottish terrace guest house. Slightly dated interior, a little tired but very clean. Room a little small and top floor stairs a challenge. BUT for £81/night per room for 2 including a Fab breakfast it really is good value. Would stay again .

Excellent family run B&B. Had a single room for £40p/n including a lovely cooked breakfast. An old building & a little old fashioned, but in a good way that offers some real character. My bed was comfy, not noisy, everything was clean & tidy, & the owner - Julia - is so friendly & welcoming. Located a short walk from the town, seafront, theatre, bus station. For the cost it was great value & I'll definitely book here again when I return to Ayr. Keep up the good work
