About Plas Coch Hotel

Plas Coch occupies a former coaching inn built around 1780 on Bala's High Street, a short ten-minute walk from Llyn Tegid, with parking at the rear of the building for guests arriving by car. The hotel keeps its historic bones while offering the practical comforts of a modern stay, including efficient central heating for cooler months.

Bedrooms are furnished simply with private bathrooms, television and tea and coffee facilities, and the restaurant serves traditional Welsh cooking with local ingredients where possible, from cooked breakfasts through to Sunday lunch and home-made puddings.

A function room is also available for weddings, parties and small conferences, making Plas Coch a flexible, unfussy base for both leisure visitors and those in town on business.

Miserable Trucker

We called in on a whim on Sunday 4th April and ordered four carvery meals and two kids meals. What can I say? Meat cooked to perfection as were the vegetables! And for dessert I had a raspberry merengue sundae, washed down with a Guinness 0.0! Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!

Avoid, avoid, avoid! Imagine going to stay with your nan who’s not been able to climb the stairs for 20 years but your childhood bed is still here. That’s the level of dirt and age to a single room at Plas Coch Hotel. Filthy and uncomfortable. You might put up with it for a night with your nan but don’t put up with it when you’re paying to stay in a hotel. Plus, they don’t have a secure booking system so scammers will get your data and contact you directly. Happened to me twice. Everything about this place is in desperate need of refurbishment. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

It's got everything you need at a reasonable price for a short Excellent plentiful breakfast however beds could do with a change of mattress.

Super friendly in the bar. Ate here a couple of times. Good home cooked food at sensible prices. Dog friendly too.
