Attended with the executive team from work, we had a booking. Nice views and good looking venue. The service was really slow and not great, though. We could have literally consumed at least double in the same amount of time (which would mean higher revenue for the venue). The food was average at best. We had a few bits to share (sliders, chips, corn in the cob, chicken pieces, calamari, etc) and I would rank somewhere like Nandos higher than Aviary. When we were about to leave, one of the execs paid the tab before leaving. Then the rest of us started to make our way out when we were chased and stopped by one of the managers who was claiming we had not paid. We asked him to double check. A few minutes later, the manager came back apologising and confirming the tab was paid and closed, claiming that the problem is that what they see in the tills in the bar and other ones, do not match (???), so he had not seen the payment, but it was all correct. I may return at some point with work, but I won't be in a rush.

We went to Aviary on a Friday evening. The restaurant is on the 9th with views across London. The staff are really pleasant and welcoming. A DJ was there playing a mix of tunes, mainly upbeat house music and disco. The menus have been thoughtfully designed and a pleasure to look at. The sourdough as a side plate was delicious. The ceviche and duck parfait started were very well executed and tasty. The sharing chateaubriand was cooked to perfection. The triple cooked chips were outstanding. The Malbec we chose was perfect with the steak. The chocolate cake to finish with unfortunately was a little bland. I’d expect the chocolate to have deep flavour, and the strawberries were tasteless, mainly I guess because they are not in season. It needed a sourness, maybe raspberries or something similar would have worked better. This is just more of a constructive criticism but still looked lovely on the plate. All in all a nice experience.

We visited The Aviary on Saturday 27th to celebrate a friend's birthday. A party of 8. The food was fantastic and waitress looking after us was brilliant. Highly recommended and love to go back. Thank you to all the staff.

The setting is lovely which is why I booked it for a birthday brunch. They have a great bottomless brunch deal on where you can get a rose, wine, cocktails like a slushy margarita or a spicy marg and prosecco with a 2 or 3 courses deal. It did take a long time between drinks to get the next one which could be a ploy as it’s bottomless. It also went wrong when I ordered the seafood platter which did not sit well. I had stomach cramps for the remainder of the night. I do not think that seafood is fresh!! it didn’t taste fresh either. Big regrets. The little birthday cake was a nice touch at least. Maybe play some music next time too…
