About Devonshire House
Wellsway is a steady residential road on the southern approach into Bath, and it's here, in a converted Victorian grocery, that Devonshire House makes its home. The building's past life is still evident in its character, with traditional, elegantly furnished rooms that lean on period charm rather than anything flashy.
Each room comes with its own en-suite bathroom, and mornings start with a full breakfast to set guests up for a day of sightseeing. Free WiFi is available throughout, drinks can be brought to your room, and the 24 hour reception means arrivals aren't tied to a fixed schedule. Free on-site parking is a practical bonus in a city where that's rarely a given.
The surrounding area suits walkers and cyclists, with routes to explore on foot or by bike, and a golf course within reach for those wanting to fill an afternoon. Pubs, restaurants and other eateries are close by for evening meals, and the city's central attractions, including the Roman Baths and Bath Abbey, are within easy striking distance.

What guests say
I enjoyed my stay at Devonshire House very much. I walked to and from city centre easily, but there are also very regular buses. My room was lovely, bathroom great, all clean and fully equipped. Particularly appreciated the 'proper' coffee. Chris was a great host. I also enjoyed my cold lager in the pub next door - they were very friendly.

We were very pleased with our stay at Devonshire House. The twin bed room was well equipped with everything we needed, including tea cups, tea bags, a kettle and milk. The room also had a ceiling fan and portable fan as it was hot when we were there. The owner, Louise, was very friendly and responsive to all my questions. She also recommended a lovely restaurant nearby called the Bear Inn where we had a delicious lunch and dinner. There was also a Tesco nearby where we bought snacks. The price of the room was also reasonable compared to staying in Central Bath. You can get into the city centre via bus, Uber or by taking a 20 minute walk.

A beautiful home, warm welcoming clean comfortable lovely decor and trays of continental breakfast brought upto our room every morning. Situated in a lovely area for walking around and just a short 20 minute downhill walk to the city centre. Thank you Louise and Chris for all the effort you made to make our stay perfect.
