My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Henry Guest House for 3 nights after our Cotswold Way trek. Liz and her team were attentive and responsive to our needs. The place is neat and clean, the room and bed comfortable, the surroundings are quiet, and the location is close to the Bath Abbey, shopping, restaurants, and the train station. Liz prepares a delicious breakfast to order and has great suggestions for whatever you need. You can tell she loves what she does. We highly recommend a stay with Liz at the Henry Guest House. Thank you so much, Liz!

This is, without exaggeration, the rudest and most absurd hosting experience I have ever encountered. First of all, the advert clearly suggested that the £85 price referred to the whole flat, which is a perfectly reasonable assumption when browsing listings. On top of that, I even paid an extra £20 for what was supposed to be breakfast included. When I politely asked about the breakfast, the host responded in an incredibly rude and dismissive way, simply telling me that breakfast was not included and that there is a Morrisons in front of the property where I could go buy my own food. So apparently paying extra means being directed to a supermarket. Things only got worse when I read the house rules. They are beyond unreasonable and frankly embarrassing: no phone calls after 9pm, no snoring (which is quite impressive considering most people cannot turn that on and off like a light switch), no visitors allowed, and an overall tone that makes you feel like you are paying to stay in a silent monastery rather than a guest accommodation. I completely understand that hosts may want peace and quiet in their property. That’s perfectly fair. But there is a massive difference between reasonable house rules and turning a stay into a list of absurd restrictions while speaking to guests with complete disrespect. In the end I cancelled the booking and had to involve Booking.com to resolve the situation. That alone should say enough. If hospitality means making guests feel unwelcome before they even arrive, then this place has absolutely mastered it.

My mum and I stayed at The Henry Guest House for the first time, and we were thoroughly impressed. The location is excellent: parking is conveniently situated just across the street, and the property is right in the heart of the city while still offering a peaceful retreat away from the noise and bustle. The lady who manages The Henry Guest House christina was exceptional. She was polite, friendly, and consistently attentive, not only to us but to all guests, as we observed during breakfast. We will certainly return. While the rooms are older and the guest house has a uniquely quirky character, this only adds to its charm—after all, the building is nearly 300 years old, and you can truly feel the history within its walls. If you are seeking efficient, welcoming service and an excellent breakfast, this is the ideal place for you. For those expecting a modern 5-star hotel, it may not be the right fit, but for everyone else: stay, stay, stay—you will not be disappointed.

Good little guesthouse literally just around the corner to the town centre and within a very short walking distance to the station. Had a cute little room on the upper floor with private bathroom across the landing (the bathrobe was a very useful addition!). The room, despite on the small side (which was stated on the website, so I knew what I was getting myself into, no complaining here), was very comfortable. The only minor downside was the hairdryer which could do with more heat and power. The breakfast was fresh and really good!
