About The Windsor

Great Pulteney Street is one of Bath's grand Georgian addresses, lined with elegant townhouses within easy reach of the city's historic core. The Windsor occupies one of these buildings at number 69, offering 15 rooms as a straightforward base for a stay in the city.

Rooms here tend to be roomier than expected for a B&B of this size, with some looking out over the street and surrounding rooftops. Each comes with air conditioning, drinks, and free WiFi, and the property runs a 24 hour reception alongside luggage storage and a laundry service for those breaking up a longer trip. Breakfast is served in the on-site restaurant each morning and is a genuine highlight, generously plated and freshly prepared.

Staff are consistently helpful and quick to point guests toward Bath's attractions, all within walking distance of the front door. Free on-site parking is a useful bonus in a city where street parking is limited. One point worth noting: a service charge is sometimes added to the bill without warning, so it is worth checking this at check-in or when booking.

We chose the Windsor Townhouse as our hotel, as it is situated near most of the attractions Bath has to offer. However, the nearest car park is the podium and it's a 10 minute walk from the hotel. the room was large and had what you require with a fridge and a safe included. Loved the headboard. There are a lot of stairs to the higher floors, which is not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. Which I found was a problem for me and for personal reasons I would not stay here again, and the fact you are charged a service charge, without being asked first. customer care and genuine welcoming atmosphere was experienced by us. Reception staff very informative of the area. Breakfast had a cereal and juice selection, cooked breakfast was really tasty, well presented and good produce. Was enough to start the day. I found the price for a 2 night stay was high for what you get, but it is Bath and that alone commands the price. would recommend for a short stay.

The Windsor House is a beautiful hotel located on one of Bath’s stunning Georgian streets. The room was warm, quiet and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was absolutely delicious. The house is incredibly well preserved — staying there truly feels like travelling back in time. A wonderful experience in every way.

🚨 SCAM AND DISCRIMINATION ALERT: Absolute Nightmare Stay 🚨 I am writing this review to warn others about the terrible experience my family and I had at this property. What was supposed to be a comfortable stay turned into a complete nightmare involving overcharging, poor facilities, and blatant mistreatment. 💰 Billing Discrepancies & Poor Management Upon arrival, we were charged more than the price we had committed to and confirmed on Booking.com. When I brought this up to the manager, their response was incredibly unprofessional and dismissive, stating that "it’s up to them how they want to do [the pricing]." This is a complete scam and incredibly dishonest business practice. 🛑 Cultural Bias & Terrible Service While the lady who initially checked us in was very nice and hospitable, the rest of the staff were an absolute nightmare. As Indian travelers, we felt targeted by a distinct lack of basic customer service—no smiles, no proper communication, and an incredibly cold atmosphere. This was most obvious during breakfast. We ordered our food, and two members of my family were left waiting for over 40 minutes. Meanwhile, two families who arrived after us were served promptly, finished their meals, and left. When we finally asked where our food was, the staff simply claimed they "forgot." It is impossible to overlook a family sitting alone in an empty restaurant area unless it is intentional. 🛏️ Substandard Room Conditions The room was in a terrible, unacceptable state and failed to meet basic hospitality standards: Incorrect Bedding: We specifically requested two single beds and one sofa bed. The hotel failed to provide this, forcing one member of our family to sleep on the carpet. Broken Bathroom Facilities: The shower head was completely broken and would not stay in the direction we needed. Furthermore, the bathtub drainage was so clogged with dirt that it took over 30 minutes for the water to clear. Zero Soundproofing: The floorboards above us were so thin that whenever someone walked in the room upstairs, it loudly echoed into our room.

Lovely spacious room. We stayed on the top floor with great views. There's lots of stairs to the third floor. Not suitable for the elderly. But otherwise the breakfast was delicious and we had a lovely restful sleep. Anne on reception was very friendly and helpful. The only thing we weren't happy with was having paying £15 service charge.
