Trivet

Such a delightful experience! Had my birthday lunch at Trivet and the team was so friendly and considerate. Food was amazing, love the hot tongue bun and lamb. The meat dish was so tinder and the sauce was fabulous. Eating in the restaurant is like bathing under sunshine with chill vibe. Especially thanks to Rob for providing excellent service, made my day really special. I have been to several Michelin restaurants in UK, and this one left me most impressed. Even with lunch menu, you can still find the quality there. If you are looking for somewhere to delight yourself or someone, absolutely choose Trivet.

This was nearly the best meal I have had, the staff was kind enough to present a mushroom starter which had incredible flavor. I ordered the lobster pasta and chicken with vinegar sauce which were absolutely amazing, packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The staff were very kind and provided recommendations in addition to great conversation. The trip here was well worth it and I highly recommend you come. Thank you Trivet team!

In short, underwhelming. The sake gelato was outstanding, as was the lovely friendly service. But gobsmacked this has 2 stars in all honesty. Everything was fine, incredibly middle of the road, very unexciting. My turbot was poorly mongered and not cooked well. In fairness they gave us 25% off the (£65) dish and I couldn’t ask for more than that in terms of service. But you know when you have a beautifully filleted piece of fish that’s cooked perfectly… it’s such a simple joy. And something I really look forward to when going to a high end restaurant. But this did not fill me with joy in any way. The scallop starter was well cooked and my wife’s lamb was beautifully rendered and spot on. But the flavours weren’t exciting at all. It brings me no pleasure to write this but there are so many better places in London at half the price.

Four of us opted for the lunch menu, and it was a stunner: incredibly precise cooking, with pleasing creative flair, in a non-fussy, airy, welcoming space. Fantastic value for money too. A treat.
