The Ferns is a small, family-run guesthouse within easy walking distance of the centre of Betws-y-Coed, offering straightforward, comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation aimed squarely at walkers and touring visitors rather than a luxury crowd. Its size keeps the atmosphere personal, with owners on hand to offer route suggestions for the surrounding hills and forest.
Rooms are simply furnished and well maintained, with breakfast served each morning as part of the rate, and the location means guests can leave the car for the day and reach the shops, station and river on foot.

We had an absolutely lovely time at The Ferns! Tim is the best!! He was kind, quick to respond, and helpful even before we booked, making sure that our group of 3 could have a room together with sufficient space. Tim was also extremely conscientious about dietary restrictions, and ensured that the vegans of our group had a full vegan English breakfast, non-dairy milk and butter, and even left vegan cookies in our room. The guesthouse is clean, comfortable, and quiet, with lovely views. It is right near the bus stops and train station, and we were an easy bus / train distance of Bangor, Beaumarais, Conwy, Anglesey, and Llandudno, as well as Snowdonia Park, where we did a fantastic hike. Also close to an amazing pizza place and other restaurants! We highly recommend and would love to stay at The Ferns again.

A quaint and homely Bnb with all basic amenities included. There is limited parking at the guest house but it's possible to park on the road (unless it's a busy weekend). We had a restful and comfortable stay, nothing particularly impressive but thankfully, nothing too disappointing. The rooms can certainly do with a refurb. The location is ideal, a short walk to nearby attractions and restaurants/pubs. Also a great base to explore the beauty of the surrounding hills, waterfalls and nature trails.

Very nice and quaint place to stay. Lounge area is nice and relaxing. Tim is a great host and this is only his 2nd season/year of doing this! Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Whenever I'll come this way again I'm going to stay here and hopefully can enjoy his English breakfast this time around. And see the waterfalls nearby that I had to skip... Weather is what it is...

Tim’s guesthouse is centrally located in Betws-y-Coed - Walking distance to everything. His Full English breakfast was delightful. His customer service was excellent. A great stay, and would strongly recommend For convenience, great customer service and a very reasonable rate.
