Waterloo Hotel and Lodge

Booked king Lodge room which was at back on main hotel only 2 minute walk but did have parking outside lodge. Stayed in Lodge 49 which was very tired and dated especially in the bathroom. Shower is over bath and in need of grouting. No fridge in room and regual trains running past back of French doors and room rumbles when they pass. The breakfast is nice but very small ( one rasher of bacon) but staff and service is very good. The one major positive is the hotel has a pool complex and is the only hotel in the area with a pool. The pool was nice and quiet every afternoon. The pool is probably the reason that the hotel can charge £190 per night. I would expect a much better room with a modern walk in shower and fridge facility for £380 for 2 nights but obviously having a pool is how they justify this price. I would probably stay again but would look for better price. ( I used Booking .com for my visit).

We stayed in a gorgeous lodge that was more like a studio apartment with a patio area and communal lawn. The room was super clean and was cleaned every day as well - no wonder they’re so on top of it! The place was signposted and easy to find, and is within an easy walk of Betws y Coed itself. The restaurant/bar is reasonably priced for good quality hotel restaurant food, and the portions are a very good size - the small loaded fries are not small!! 😂 We used the swimming pool while we were here too, and it was a great break from the heatwave we were in. The jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms were great - my partner said the steam room wasn’t painfully hot like some he’s been in, but was still hot enough to feel like it’s opened his pores and sinuses when he comes out. Speaking of the heat - the rooms come with a fan, but I really don’t feel like it’s needed as the rooms themselves stayed lovely and cool. They were perfect to come back to after a day out in the sun! Tea and coffee and hot chocolate were provided, as was hairdryer, safe, iron and ironing board, and all towels and toiletries. Great place to call ‘base camp’ if you’re planning on exploring north wales!

My wife and I stayed at the Waterloo Hotel in Betws-y-Coed for 4 nights. We stayed in the main building on a bed and breakfast basis. I felt the need to write a review to express how happy we were with the hotel, its wonderful friendly staff and lovely food. The location was excellent and allowed us to access many areas all within a short drive. Very highly recommended and we are planning to go back next year.

This is a great located Hotel on the outskirts of Betws-y-Coed. Booked a 4 night stay, bed n breakfast with use of Leisure. We only had breakfast on final day as hotel offered option of packed lunch instead which for us was brilliant option .Staff/service great. Loads of parking. Would highly recommend. We didn't use swimming as to busy enjoying walks
