What guests say
We stayed for 2 nights in July 2026. We booked this hotel so we could easily access the city centre and because the advertised rooms as possibly having a bath. On booking, we requested a room with a bath. We also emailed the day before our visit to check the parking details - as we would arrive before check in time so wanted to make sure we could park. We recieved no response to our parking enquiry, and our room did not have a bath which was disappointing. The room was nice, a comfortable bed and a fan which was handy. However, there were no plug sockets next to the bed, so at night the fan was the other side of the room. Wardrobe had lots of shelves and hangers to use. Bathroom had hand-wash, body wash and shampoo which was helpful. We were given 1 larger towel and 1 hand towel for 2 of us. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. There was wallpaper coming off the wall near the ceiling in places and the glass shelf under the sink wasnt very clean. There was also a door in out room which couldn't be opened from our side. This was a little strange and we did ask what it was for. We were assured that the adjacent room was not in use and couldn't be accessed without a staff key card - but it was a little odd and unsettling. Good points were free parking - only if booked direct, 2 minute walk to tram stop, not too noisy and easy to drive to without entering the green pay zone. Would recommend for a short stay, but for the price would have expected better.

Unfortunately, this hotel feels like it’s stuck in the 1980s. The only thing that seemed remotely modern was the TV in the room. Everything else felt dated and in need of some serious investment. The shower had all the power of a dripping tap and was more of a dribble than a proper shower. Breakfast was equally disappointing. The full English was incredibly dry and tasted as though it had been sitting around since the early hours of the morning. To make matters worse, parking cost an additional £15. Considering I arrived at 11pm and was gone again by 8am, that felt excessive. When I queried it, the man on reception showed little to no sympathy and seemed completely uninterested. Considering the overall price, you don’t get much value for your money. The facilities are tired, the food is poor, and the extra charges only add to the frustration. To be fair, the beds were comfortable and I got a decent night’s sleep. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the stay

The human personal touch upon arrival is so refreshing where get nothing but copy & paste or automation elsewhere. The parking is massive and a good price for a city centre. Absolutely outstanding breakfast, really tasty sausages, an evening meal makes the perfect stay.

Stayed for one night, the ambiance in the main area is antique but the stay rooms are refurbished and look Modern. Finding the path to room Is like a maze due to the structure of the hotel. Breakfast was adequate. Staff were friendly. Room and beds were tidy and well maintained. Limited parking on site but with an extra charge.
