What guests say
Not good enough. Shortly after I arrived (and went for a nap) the fire alarm went off. If you are going to test the alarms TELL PEOPLE on check in. Room was extremely cold and couldn't get the aircon to warm up. Thin duvet so was cold all night. Room looks outs onto dumpsters. Staff talking loudly outside. Every time I went down to reception staff were standing around chatting amongst themselves and it was hard to get to speak to anyone (felt like I was interupting their gossip). Shuttle bus is amazingly slow and irregular. Asked them to book me a cab and the receipt they gave me for the payment was someone else's so had to go back and ask them to print me the correct one. The worst thing is room service. You have to order and pay on an app. I ordered something that turned out was not in stock and I was told I would be refunded on check out. I haven't been. It clearly shows on my portfolio that they owe me money but they won't return it to me. It's not a lot of money but I really object to paying for something I did not receive and not being refunded. Room was tired. Bathroom door is broken and there is sign telling you to use bathmats provided in shower but there isn't a bathmat provided. It also called me somone else's name on the TV - "Welcome to your room....total random stranger". I told them three times and each time they said they would update it. They never did. I did not feel welcome, I did not feel they cared, I felt dismissed. Ordered breakfast in bed both mornings. Cereal. No spoon. Quite how they expect you to eat cereal without a spoon is beyond me. No regular coffee in room only decaf sachets. Cheap concentrated orange juice with breakfast. The only good thing was the tomato soup (which was delicious and at least for that they did bring me a spoon). They really need to up their game.

Loved the stay, everyone was lovely, room was clean and honestly I had a superb night's sleep, bed lovely, black out blinds, air con allowed me to be comfortable, TV great, iron and board in room. All in all was very pleased with a night stay here. Only thing I would have to say which was a shame was there was no shampoo or lotion in the bottles when I was in the shower which was a bit of an annoyance but luckily I had brought some anyhow, however nipping out the shower wasn't ideal. The receptionist was very apologetic though. Location is perfect if you are attending an event at NEC. Reason the shampoo didn't lose it a star was because I actually left my sunglasses in the room, wasn't sure, just knew I had lost them while I was at the event the next day. Despite calling through and being told they hadn't been found I went back to the hotel after the event to double check. The man behind the desk, who looked like a manager was absolutely superb, very kind, he realised that a pair had been entered into the system the previous day (perhaps why they weren't found when I called?) and got someone to go and bring them to see if they were mine. They were. He also took off the parking charge for the second visit. Very nice, kind and reassuring while I was waiting he kept me talking. Honestly I was over the moon to have found them, he could've just said no like the person on the phone did but he went to the extra effort and really made my day. Thank you so very much.

I had a great time at the Crowne. The location is just steps away from Resort Worlds and 5 minutes from the NEC; making it an ideal place to stay for attending conventions. The rooms seemed a bit old, but were functional and had everything you need. Constant free water, coffee and tea made evertything nicer and the AC worked perfectly, which is not always a given. Beds were comfy and the overall area is very silent at night. Recommended!

My parents stayed here for a few days whilst work was carried out on their property. The staff were very good, really looked after them both. It was very clean and the facilities in the room were excellent, there was a wet room for my mom whose disabled. Plenty of parking. IWould highly recommend. Thank you for looking after them, it made a difficult time a bit more bearable.
