Outside the front door there's plenty to fill the days, with the coast, golf, fishing, horse riding and watersports all nearby, along with walking and cycling routes for those who'd rather stay on land. We had a wonderful family stay at the Westby Bournemouth. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and perfect for our needs. Duncan is very friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was a real highlight, with a great selection of fresh, tasty options that suited both adults and children. It was the perfect way to start each day. The location is excellent, close to the beach and local attractions, making it an ideal base for a family visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend the Westby Bournemouth to anyone looking for a comfortable, friendly place to stay.

I stayed here in August while visiting friends who live in Bournemouth. Duncan was an excellent host. I arrived earlier than expected for check-in, and he was more than happy to help me out and let me get into my room earlier than planned. Duncan was very welcoming and had a breadth of local knowledge. The room was great value compared to similar priced rooms in the local area. The temperature was great in the rooms and were kept very clean, with a room refresh every other day. It was great to be able to come and go as you pleased (even if coming back late, as long as quiet, of course). A great location, easy check-in and a host that is friendly, but also respects your privacy! Would recommend to anyone staying in the area, sure I’ll be back soon!

Booked here because of the good reviews. We stayed in the family room myself, son and mum for 10days Positives first: Good small breakfast Clean bedding Good price Negatives: Room very dated, stains and marks on walls. Cleanliness not great, mouldly blind in bathroom and around windows. Owner very controlling/anal/always right. We had just done a 7hr journey and all Duncan wanted to know was what we wanted for breakfast the next day. Apparently it's normal for a fire alarm to go off because you have a shower ...state of the art sensors and don't use hair spray either all in the the very detailed what to do and not do folder in the room. Maybe if the bathroom window wasn't broken and we were able to open it that wouldn't have happened. The fan clearly isn't sufficient. We had the total of 4 hangers for our 10days of clothes for 3 of us. No wardrobe or space for suitcases. Carpet between rooms is a serious trip hazard. Limited plug sockets No thought for a fire escape if there was a fire on the stairs. Door lock was a struggle for all 3 of us and yet he refused to admit there was a problem, he just said lift up and give it a wiggle. When 3 people are saying they can't unlock a door because the mechanics in the lock are loose or not lined up then he should have listened, but no he couldn't see the issue. Had there been a real fire we would have been stuck, very stuck. Sinks and shower were slow draining so filled up very quickly. Lovely seeing your own spit going round and round in the sink. We nearly flooded the bathroom unintentionally, although the shower was good. Toilet brush looked like it had been used in a flower patch...absolutely disgusting. The road is very busy, noisey and rough in my opinion, we never went out alone. Duncan constantly says in reviews and to customers if you aren't happy to tell him and he will try and sort it....don't think all this could be remedied during our stay. All this should have been sorted before guests get there. Needless to say we won't be coming back to The Westby....but Bournemouth town centre was beautiful.
