About Pentwyn Caravan and Camping
Pentwyn Caravan and Camping occupies a sheltered spot at Tregoyd Mill, where meadows meet woodland at the foot of the Black Mountains, roughly ten minutes' drive from Hay-on-Wye. A brook runs through the grounds, and mature trees divide the site into distinct areas for tents, tourers and motorhomes. The Lodge Field offers electric hookups, while the Dingle section welcomes dogs. Unlike many local sites, raised firepits and barbecues are permitted throughout—a genuine bonus for those who enjoy cooking outdoors.
Facilities are straightforward rather than elaborate, so it's worth checking current shower provision before you arrive. What draws campers here is the location: Llangorse Lake lies twenty minutes away, local waterfalls closer to ten, and canoe hire on the Wye just five minutes by car. Several pubs sit within walking distance or a short drive. It suits visitors who'd rather wake to woodland birdsong and hill views than pitch in Hay itself, travelling in for bookshops, festivals and the town's cafés when the mood takes them.

Lovely campsite with stunning location. The facilities are excellent and Thomas was very friendly. Would absolutely go here again and it is very easy to hike up into the hills from the campsite. The toilets are well stocked and clean, as are the showers. The fridge and freezer also have lots of space in them. There was lots of space available to camp and it was very peaceful. Thomas was particularly kind in accommodating a group of teens with no fuss whatsoever. However I can't reccomend the location enough because you are right in the hills and it has the most amazing views.

Lovely Campsite and owner. Tom was really friendly and helpful. The facilities were always well stocked and the area is stunning. We had the good fortune of having the lower field to ourselves the first two nights but then we had the misfortune of a group of approximately 8 young teenage boys camping next to us on the third night. Their accompanying adult camped away from them in the top field and the boys ( out of earshot of their adult) were excited and raucous as a result. We did not get much sleep that particular night with the boys shrieking excitedly in to the early hours. The party were pleasant enough though and after we had a word with the accompanying adults, and mentioned to the campsite owner, the young lads were moved closer to the adults. I felt a bit bad that they moved because of us in the end but equally felt it was bad form for the adults to have left the children unsupervised next to us. All in all it was a very good camping experience and I would recommend. We loved that it was in a secluded little beauty spot and that the campsite owner went out of his way to make everyone welcome. We hope to visit again.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at this campsite, with amazing views and great facilities. Perfect location to get to loads of different places to hike and go caving if you drive. I’d recommend this place to anyone who loves the outdoors and wants to get away from life for a bit!

Amazing quite and beautiful campsite, it was a pleasure to stay here and will certainly be back. I arrived on a Friday afternoon and was only one other camper on other side of the field, plenty of space for the dog to play around without disturbing others. Beautiful little stream that runs through the bottom of the field too.
