Great museum. Well worth a visit. Interesting captions and display in main hall at ground level. One of the best prehistoric people exhibition in a small gallery with lots of video and several locally discovered funeral displays. Upstairs, there's a temporary exhibit of Wildlife Photography of the Year and LGBT+ displays, together with a stimulating exhibit on the colour blue. Admission is £10.50 per adult, but ticket is valid for a year and there may be deals on Groupon.

I visited the museum on a rainy day, and it was a decent experience—mostly thanks to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. I think the human evolution gallery makes the museum very interesting for families. To be honest, though, I don't feel the need to go back. Even though the ticket price is reasonable—especially since the right ticket allows you to revisit for free for a whole year—it just didn't fully win me over.

A good place to go with potential to be better. What I loved about the Brighton museum is it's variety of historical and local lore which presented the opportunity to cover the very basics (such as the Egyptian exhibit). It was really great to see not only a diverse history of Brighton & Hove, but also that members of staff had the opportunity to express their own creative passions here which gave it's own merit of exploration. Although not to my personal taste, the current mod exhibition served it's purpose well. The passion and protest exhibit was also a great addition and I will be using the insights I have gained to form part of my practice development in the equality and diversity module of my formal apprenticeship. What was disappointing, was the amount of fashion displays. The mod exhibition followed by a Ben Sherman takeover had overtaken a significant amount of the museum. I think that if they had been spread out separately or combined into the backspace that the Mod exhibition was in it would have been enough. I do hope with the rotation of exhibits on offer come January we will see less of similarity and a more diverse range of exhibitions on offer.

We went to Brighton to take the kids to see a play so went to the pavilion the museum. It was a really great space which I’d never been to before. Amazing to think that it was once the stables for the pavilion. The exhibitions are really well thought out & designed for all the members of the family. Loads of things for the kids to do & definitely worth going to
